New library needs volunteers
The good news is the new Lafayette Library and Learning Center is proving to be a big hit among kids. The bad news is there aren't enough adult volunteers to keep an eye on them.
That's the word from Susan Weaver, senior community library manager, in an e-mail to the community Tuesday. Hundreds of kids have poured into the new facility each afternoon during the first few days the library has been open to the public.
While that's what library staff members were hoping for, they need at least six volunteers for crowd control in the teen area, the children's area, the storytelling corner and the study rooms.
If you're interested in helping out, contact Weaver at sweaver@ccclib.org.
