Chelsea Long, of San Ramon, was recognized as a dean's scholar at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J. In addition to dean's list honors, Chelsea was one of 19 undergraduates inducted as a charter student member of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society. Chelsea is a senior majoring in exercise science, wellness, and sports and a 2006 graduate of Livermore High School.

Marissa Payne, of Alamo, Travis Becker, and Andrew Jensen, both of Livermore, have graduated with bachelor's degrees from California Lutherian University in Thousand Oaks.

Accomplishments

Anita Gandolfo has been honored as woman of the year by the Livermore Valley Business and Professional Women. Gandolfo is a well-known Livermore businesswoman with a long history of active business and philanthropic ventures.

Walter Gewing, of San Ramon, has won $250 for his chosen charity from Prudential CARES Volunteer Awards. Gewing dedicated more than 115 hours of volunteer service to the Jewish Federation of the Greater East Bay/Contra Costa JCC, Millman Respite Center. The respite center is open five days a week and provides activities for individuals facing memory impairment due to Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, stroke and related dementia disorders.
