Jared Leaf rushed for 211 yards, including the game-winning touchdown on fourth and inches in overtime as the Bulldogs kept pace atop the DFAL, escaping the Cougars upset bid, thanks in large part to the big running back.

"He's something else," Alhambra coach Alan Hern said. "You don't get many like him passing through. He's a man. He just ran determined tonight."

Alhambra (6-2, 3-1) rallied from a 27-14 deficit late in the third quarter to force overtime, and after a Jarrett Milner 23-yard field goal on Campolindo's (5-4, 1-4 DFAL), overtime possession, the Bulldogs needed three plays from the one to win the game.

"When you only have that far to go and you have a 225-pound back, if you can't score than you don't deserve to win," Hearn said of the fourth down decision. "We would rather have the ball in his hands at that point."

Leaf scored on runs of five and 61 as well. Campolindo's Reiner Ebarle had 118 yards on the ground including a 28-yard scoring run that put the Cougars up 27-14 with 29 seconds left in the third quarter.
