An Alameda motorcycle training officer was critically injured in an accident early Friday morning.
A nurse found Glen Anderson, 40, and a father of two, on Ygnacio Valley Road two miles from his house in Concord, according to Alameda City Councilwoman Lena Tam.
The nurse called an ambulance, which transported him to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek.
He was in critical but stable condition as of Saturday afternoon. His wife could not be reached.
Alameda Police Capt. James Brock said Anderson was off duty when the accident happened. Anderson served the department since about 2002, most recently as a motorcycle officer in the traffic division.
Tam said Anderson suffered severe head injuries, but had few other details.
"We are keeping him in our prayers," she said.
