A knee injury will keep Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic out of Team Canada's remaining games in the international world championship competition under way in Helsinki and Stockholm.

San Jose general manager Doug Wilson said Sunday that Vlasic suffered a sprained MCL in Canada's 5-4 overtime loss Saturday to Team USA. No surgery is required, Wilson added, and Vlasic should be fully healed by the time training camp opens in September.

Vlasic's departure leaves Team USA defenseman Justin Braun as the lone Shark competing in the annual tournament that continues through May 20.
