Fresh off a lengthy national tour, Rachel Efron returns home to the East Bay to perform a CD release party on Thursday.

The Oakland singer-songwriter-pianist, who appeals to both jazz and pop fans, is celebrating the release of "Put Out the Stars," which follows the acclaimed efforts "Say Goodbye" and "4AM."

Showtime is 8 p.m. at the Freight and Salvage Coffeehouse, 2020 Addison St., Berkeley. Alexis Harte, a Bay Area-based singer-songwriter-guitarist, is also on the bill, leading his Lemon Hammer band. Tickets are $20.50-$22.50 (510-644-2020, www.thefreight.org).
