LIVERMORE -- Fire crews quickly contained a grass fire caused by weed control crews Wednesday morning near Interstate 580 in Livermore, officials said.
At about 10:55 a.m., a fire prevention officer reported that weed abatement measures had sparked the blaze near eastbound I-580 at the Vasco Road offramp, Batallion Chief Jack Neiman-Kimel said.
Livermore-Pleasanton firefighters responded to the scene, along with two Alameda County fire engines that were in the area. Fire crews fully extinguished the 100-square-foot blaze by 11:15 a.m., Neiman-Kimel said.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
