PLEASANTON -- Book lovers can stock up on their winter reading at the Friends of the Pleasanton Library's fall book sale.

The event takes place on Sept. 21-23 in the library's large meeting room.

The Friday night sale will run from 6 to 9 p.m. and is only for members of the Friends of the Library. Visitors may join and pay the membership fee at the door.

The sale is open to the public on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

A popular feature of the Sunday sale is the $7 price for a bag of books. The library will supply the bags.

More than 40,000 donated books will be for sale. Paperbacks will be $1, hardbacks $2, and 50-cents for Golden and Scholastic books.

DVDs and CDs are $1 per disc. Cash, checks and charge cards will be accepted.

No electrical devices or strollers are allowed at the event.

All revenues support new library materials, programs and equipment.
