By now, you've probably noticed that Big Bird costumes are sold out across the nation, thanks to Mitt Romney's comments about the "Sesame Street" character in the first presidential debate. Unless you're willing to fork over $100 on eBay, you're stuck making this Halloween costume.

The good news is there are plenty of other ways to show your presidential pride, not just in Big Bird form but by combining all the zingers that came out of the three debates, including Romney's odd phrase in the second debate about "binders full of women," and the "horses and bayonets" President Obama mentioned in the third debate in reference to the country's evolved military.

Mix and match the following five ideas. Some are so easy you don't even need a video tutorial.

  • Buy a Mitt Romney mask. Make a beak out of yellow construction paper and tape it to the mask's nose. Wear a dark suit, red tie, and American flag pin. Carry a three-ring binder stuffed with Barbie dolls.

  • This video from Cafemom.com's The Stir has 86,000 likes on Facebook for its easy guide to making a binder full of one women using pre-cut foam board, poster board, ribbon, binder rings, and a magazine. http://thestir.cafemom.com/beauty_style/145296/how_to_make_your_own.

  • Shefinds.com recommends looking chic in its version of a binders full of women. Just dress up as a professional woman -- black pencil skirt, blazer, and pumps -- and affix a few three-ring binders, corset-style, around your waist. Decorate with Romney stickers. www.shefinds.com/2012/this-years-most-politically-incorrect-halloween-costume-binders-full-of-women.

  • For the horse and bayonet zinger, Hercampus.com suggests dressing up in army print garb while holding a wooden or plastic toy horse stick (with the horse head on top). In the other hand? A plastic rifle, of course. www.hercampus.com/pop-campus/horses-and-bayonets-halloween-costume-third-presidential-debate
