BERKELEY -- Cal coach Jeff Tedford's future remained in limbo Monday as he and athletic director Sandy Barbour were "continuing to meet," according to an athletic department spokesman.
The spokesman declined to divulge specifics, including the time frame for resolving Tedford's situation.
An end-of-season team meeting, which had been delayed from Sunday, never materialized Monday, according to a source.
Tedford just completed the worst season of his 11-year tenure: The Bears finished 3-9 and missed the postseason for the second time in three years.
He is under contract for three more years, with no buyout clause in the deal. Cal would owe the full amount -- $6.9 million -- with the possibility that future employment (with another team) could mitigate the Bears' financial liability.
