The Storm Prediction Center at Norman said Thursday that severe weather could occur from northwestern Texas across western Oklahoma into central and eastern Kansas.
A cold front will be sweeping through the upper plains early Saturday, then move southeastward. A warm front will extend to the Tennessee and Ohio valleys.
The atmosphere south and east of the fronts could be ripe for storm development Saturday afternoon. Hail and damaging wind gusts will be the biggest threats, according to the forecasters.
