Yeah, yeah, yeah, we all know that Los Angeles is the entertainment capital of the world. And it's painfully clear that New Yorkers like to believe if you can make it there, you can make it anywhere.

Then again, they didn't make the iPod there, did they?

And when Brad Pitt marched his way to an Oscar nomination for "Moneyball," his path took him not to Dodger Stadium, but to the Oakland Coliseum.

As it turns out, our beloved Bay Area -- the birthplace of Tom Hanks, Green Day and Buzz Lightyear -- is a pop-cultural force in its own right. And we figured it's as good a time as any to celebrate that fact.

So we've concocted a quiz designed to test your knowledge of some of the people, places and things that put the Bay Area on the pop-culture map. Depending on your trivia savvy, some of the questions will be real brain-teasers, some not so much.

Either way, we invite you to have at it. Whether you ace this test or not, we're pretty sure you'll experience a great big surge of Bay Area pride along the way.

Take the five quizzes, add the scores together and then pop back here to see how well you did:

23-26 correct: Congratulations, you are an Encyclopedia of Bay Area pop culture information. You may also be really annoying.

18-22 correct: Impressive, young Skywalker, but you are not a Jedi yet.
