HAYWARD -- In a wild game, Ryan Barker threw two touchdown passes to Deangelo Cox, including the final score of the game in the last two minutes as the American High football team earned a 44-36 nonleague win over Tennyson at Sunset Field.

Each team had a kickoff return for a touchdown in the first quarter, including one by American's Naeem Knox.

Tennyson, which trailed 38-22 with six minutes remaining, scored two touchdowns to set up an exciting finish. Tennyson played catch-up most of the night, but got first-half touchdowns from Isaiah Rogers and Jacob Watson to take a 22-19 halftime lead.

American improved to 2-0 and Tennyson dropped to 0-1.
