Katy Perry passed Justin Bieber as the most popular person on Twitter over the weekend.

I'm pretty sure I'm still third.

According to E! News, the "Roar" singer reached 46.48 million followers over the weekend, edging out Bieber and his 46.47 million followers.

It was a short reign for Bieber, who ended Lady Gaga's two-year-run at the top just nine months ago.

Perry also tops Bieber on Facebook, boasting 59.26 million friends to Bieber's 57.28 million.

If you ask me, she's also better looking.

Perry shared her social media strategy with USA Today a couple weeks ago. "I have horrible typos. I use 'there' or 'your' wrong grammatically," she said. "But I feel like I've learned how to tame that social media dragon."

"When you decide to have a glass of wine, put the phone down," she said. "Don't drink and tweet."

Right. Especially when operating heavy machinery.

Perry also said famous people shouldn't use social media to fight the rumor mill.

"I see a lot of celebrities send out messages like that online, and I think, 'Sweetheart, nobody knows about this so-called issue because we don't have you on Google Alert. You're just throwing another log on the fire.' I do it only in extreme cases if someone is jeopardizing my character," she said.

Perry also said she ignores her online haters. "I don't know they exist because I don't give them attention," she said. "If you tried to please everyone, you'd have no sense of self. You'd lose yourself in the process of being a people-pleaser and there'd be nothing unique left."
