After an interesting tribal council last week, the remaining six players talk about what happened and what's to come. Hayden tells the group that he hopes everyone likes second place, because Tyson is sure to win it all. Gervase jumps up, yelling that Tyson is nothing, he's the one calling the shots. It's just a big joke.

Tyson, Gervase and Ciera get together and decide right then that next person to go is Hayden.

Redemption Island

Caleb, the latest victim of a poor alliance, Laura and Tina arrive for their do-or-die challenge. Caleb won't look at Tyson or anyone else, only his buds Hayden and Katie. He doesn't like being voted off. Imagine our shock at that revelation.

Today's duel involves 150 wooden tiles that must be built into an 8-foot "house of cards." If no one has reached that when time runs out, the two with the tallest towers earn the right to stay on Redemption Island. Laura very quickly reaches 7 feet. while the others are not even halfway through. And she wins it.

Tina and Caleb are neck-and neck as time is running out. With 30 seconds left, Caleb's leaning tower leans too far, allowing Tina to just wait out the time to take second place.

Jeff Probst can't resist asking how such a nice, hard working guy like Caleb can be in a relationship with Colton, who is neither of those things. Caleb says they are opposites, which attract, but that they have some things in common. Like what, Probst asks. "We're both guys," Caleb says after some hard thinking. Yeah, that's all we could think of, too. Adios, Caleb.

As winner, Laura controls who gets the clue to the hidden immunity idol. She gives it to her daughter, Ciera, who decides to keep it this time. Laura encourages her to find it.

Back at Kasama, everyone cheers Ciera and her mom's challenge-winning super powers. Then Tyson, Monica, Gervase and Ciera go for water and Ciera reads the clue out loud. They all start looking, and Hayden and Katie show up and start looking, too, although they have no idea of where to look.

Tyson says he has to find it to control the game. He gets emotional when he explains that he is trying to make it to the end to justify not saving his wife when he could have. He manages to sneak away from the others, climbs a very tall tree, and finds the hidden idol. Not having pockets, he hides it in his crotch, and decides not to tell anyone he found it. He feels very relieved.

Hayden isn't, however. He thinks he struck a nerve in Gervase with his comment about finishing in second. Gervase appears to be interested, but only if Hayden can guarantee him that he won't blow up Gervase's game. We're not sure whether we believe him, however. Tyson and Gervase have been blood brothers from the start.

Immunity challenge

Today's challenge requires walking through a maze while balancing a ball on a stick. At stations along the way, they have to add a length to the stick. Drop the ball, you have to start over from the last station. After that, they have to unlock a trunk and toss bean bags to knock pieces of sand-fill bamboo off some posts. Winner gets immunity and ice cream, delivered to the camp.

Monica comes very close to winning immunity again, but Gervase catches and passes her. Probst allows him to pick two people to join him in the ice cream party. He picks Monica, as payback for the food she gave up and let the tribe eat, and his "left-hand man," Tyson. For trivia buffs, Tyson is left-handed.

And now it's time for ice cream and strategy. Gervase says he's in good shape. He's in a tight alliance with Monica and Tyson, and Ciera as the fourth.

While those three eat their frosty treats, Hayden tries to sway Ciera. He says Gervase is on board and they can make a big move to either get Tyson out or make him play the idol, if he has it.

Hayden then takes his case to Gervase and Ciera together. He plays that "hope you like second place," but they aren't convinced. Gervase thinks he can beat Tyson, but either way, he stands a better chance with the jury against Tyson rather Katie or Hayden, who have fans among the jurors.

Tribal council

Hayden promises to go in with all guns blazing and he manages to do a pretty good job.

He tells Probst that Monica, Gervase and Ciera are being controlled by Tyson. Ciera says no she isn't. Probst tries to stir things up pointing out that Gervase didn't choose her for the food reward. Ciera says she wasn't offended at all.

Probst lobbies for Ciera to join Katie and Hayden and turn the game around. Gervase says no one is switching sides. Hayden says she can be part of three, or she can be in fourth place. The others assure her that there are no assigned places, even though we all know there are. Everyone now is campaigning for Ciera's vote and it eventually ends with a showdown between Hayden and Tyson on whether feathers are rustled or ruffled.

It's time to vote and Gervase casts his ballot so loudly (for "Hay-done") that everyone can hear him. Probst reads the votes and it is a three-three vote between Hayden and Monica. There is a revote, without Hayden and Monica voting, but it still ends in a tie, which triggers the rocks of death.

In an interesting twist, if the four voters can't decide on one name, Monica and Hayden are safe but the others must draw rocks. And Ciera has suddenly decided that her alliance is doing her dirt and she's not changing her vote.

There were three rocks, two black and one white. Black means you stay, white sends you to redemption island. And Katie, who couldn't get a lucky break if she tripped over one, pulls the white rock and heads off to Redemption Island and her mom, Tina.

Ciera and Hayden are jubilant, but we've no idea why. They remain in the minority. It only made sense if Katie stayed with them, unless Katie or Laura re-enters it the game next week. Tyson congratulates Ciera for having the nerve to do it, but she thinks he's glaring at her. Game on.

Next time: Ciera tells Monica that the boys have been talking trash about her, and Monica decides it's time to play the "me" game.
