Today's music picks: Outside Lands reveals dates, but who will headline?
The dates for the 2014 Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival, the Bay Area's mammoth annual celebration of music and more, have been set. It returns to Golden Gate Park Aug. 8-10. So, we know when the party is happening, but we still don't know who the guests of honor will be. Of course, that won't stop festivalgoers from speculating about which acts will headline the three-day event. The odds-on-favorite, many believe, is OutKast, the popular hip-hop duo that is reuniting for Coachella and plans to play other festivals as well. Another potential candidate is Green Day, the East Bay band who has yet to perform at the Bay Area's biggest music festival. So, my guess is that OutKast and Green Day will headline two of the three days. Beyond that, however, it's anybody's guess. Fingers crossed for Kanye West.

The Knife is coming to the Bay Area. The incredibly popular Swedish electronic music duo, which is one of the main headlining acts at the big Coachella music festival in Southern California, will perform April 15 at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Tickets are $35. For more information, visit www.apeconcerts.com.

Miley Cyrus can sing! That's something that I often forget, amid all the headlines about what she's wearing/doing. Yet, this video always reminds me of her talent. It's one of my favorite songs, for sure, so it's nice to hear Miley do justice to it.
