A 31-year-old man who reportedly claims he's Michael Jackson's son is going public Thursday with alleged DNA evidence.

(Cue opening of "Billie Jean").

According to TMZ, his name is Brandon Howard. He's the son of singer Miki Howard, who was represented by Michael's father Joe Jackson in the 1980s.

Sources close to Brandon told the site Miki and M.J. met in 1982 and Brandon was born soon after.

Well, that's it, then. That's all the proof I need.

Howard grew up in Cleveland and now lives in Miami. He apparently is a singer who goes by the moniker B Howard and, according to TMZ, contributed to a new Akon song.

The website said Howard somehow acquired DNA from an old orthodontic device worn by Jackson and was a match to Howard's.

Maybe the kid really is his son.

The results will be unveiled at noon Pacific time Thursday on FilmOn.com which, in no way, would be trying to exploit this.

Howard released a statement Thursday morning through his manager Scott Broomfield.

"To my fans, family, and friends, despite recent allegations, I did not authorize the testing of my DNA to be compared to that of the late Michael Jackson nor did I contact TMZ regarding the publication of the story," the statement read. "This spring, I agreed to be a part of a documentary with FilmOn.TV and was asked to give a sample of my DNA. Even though I agreed to this I never expected it to be used in this manner."

Of course not.

"To this day, I have never claimed to be Michael Jackson's son nor do I have any intention of pursuing the family's estate," the statement said.

Of course not.

But the publicity wouldn't hurt, would it?

Miki Howard has not commented on the matter.

TMZ reported that Howard actually is planning on going after the estate. The estate's lawyer, Howard Weitzman, told TMZ, "We've never even heard from him," adding, "Any deadline for claiming to be Michael's child has long since passed."

TMZ said Howard shot a video in 2011 in which he "blatantly" uses his alleged father's dance moves and vocals.
