Morrissey, the indie-rock star who has become as nearly as famous for postponing concerts as he is for his songbook, has once again pushed pause on his upcoming tour dates.

That includes the postponement of two local shows -- Nov. 14 at the Mondavi Center in Davis and Nov. 16 at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco.

A release from Morrissey's representatives stressed that the dates "have been postponed — but not canceled." Fans are asked to hold on to their original tickets, which will be honored at the rescheduled shows. New dates are expected to be announced shortly (see www.apeconcerts.com for more information).

The singer's reason for postponing the dates is certainly valid: He's returned to England to be with his mother, who is in the hospital.

"Due to issues with his mother's health, Morrissey will need to remain by her side during this difficult period," according to the news release.
