Here's a 'History" lesson that Eagles fans should definitely enjoy.
The classic rock band is bringing its History of the Eagles tour to the SAP Center in San Jose on Jan. 29. The tour will feature tunes from throughout the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame act's career, including some songs that the band has not previously performed live.
Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Nov. 2 (www.ticketmaster.com). A presale for American Express cardholders runs from 10 a.m. Oct. 28 to 10 p.m. Nov. 1. Ticket prices were not immediately available.
The tour supports the "History of the Eagles," a new documentary about the band that is available in both DVD and Blue-ray formats at the usual music retailers (like www.amazon.com) and at www.eaglesband.com.
The Eagles, of course, are one of the biggest bands in rock history. The group has sold over 120 million albums across the globe, earned a half-dozen Grammy Awards and notched five No. 1 singles in the U.S. The Eagles first greatest hits compilation, which covers the years from 1971 to 1975, stands as the best-selling album of all time in the U.S., with nearly 30 million copies sold.
