Yankees 9, Mets 5: The Yankees trailed by four runs after two innings, but rallied for seven runs behind two doubles from Abby Morris and two runs scored from Isabella Hermelin. Alexis Carlson sparked the defense with two nice catches in left field. Catcher Marlena Heim, who had a run scoring double, filled in for an injured teammate and caught the last five innings. Brianna Klopatek added two doubles and pitched the final three innings with four strikeouts. Shortstop Kelsey Rumbaugh went 3 for 3 and snared a line drive for the final out to clinch the victory. The Yankees finished the regular season in fifth place, but went undefeated (4-0) in the postseason.
Yankees 15, Rangers 9: In the top of the sixth inning, the Yankees faced a five run deficit but regrouped for 11 runs en route to a semifinal victory. Julia Nelson had two hits in the inning including a bases loaded single. Madeline Kalil and Olivia Cannizzo both contributed two singles and two runs in the sixth inning. Rachel Guidi came up with the big hit, a two-run double, and also came around to score on a throwing error. Defensively, Aya Kanan prevented several runs from scoring with clutch plays at second base. Kelly Plant threw out a runner from right field to shutdown a rally and Kailey Meyer, who had three hits, pitched out of a bases loaded jam.
Yankees 8, Giants 7: The Yankees rallied for two runs in the sixth inning to take the lead and secure the victory. Aya Kanan drove in Kelsey Rumbaugh for the tying run, and Kailey Meyer scored the go-ahead run on an infield single by Olivia Cannizo. Defensively, Alexis Carlson made a nice catch in left field and Brianna Klopatek struck out the side to earn the save.
