Bauea and John Crosby of Concord, while vacationing in Europe in July 2011, made their first stops in England, including Stonehenge. While at the world famous stone monument, which archaeologists believe was erected from 3000-2000 B.C., they also caught up with the community news in the Concord Transcript. The teachers -- she in mathematics at Pittsburg High and he a science teacher at Hercules High -- got a history lesson at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, which attracts some 900,000 visitors each year.
It doesn't matter if your time away is spent across the Bay or across the country -- remember to pack the Transcript to keep up with news of the community, and then show your neighbors where you have been.
