Garrett and Cathy Wayne of Concord prepare to board a small plane for a sightseeing excursion of the Nazca Lines in Peru, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. They brought along the Concord Transcript to catch up on the community news as they flew to their destination, first discovered in 1927. The ancient lines also include stylized geoglyphs of figures such as monkeys, hummingbirds and fish. The Wayne's March trip to Peru also included time in Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, Paracas and the Ballestas Islands.
It doesn't matter if your time away is spent across the Bay or across the country -- remember to pack the Transcript to keep up with news of the community, and then show your neighbors where you have been.
