  • At the Clayton Community Library, Story Time programs are free.

    Patty Cakes Story Time: For children up to 3 years old attending with a caregiver. The final program of the current session is from 11-11:15 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27. It features songs, rhymes and stories with an aim to early literacy.

    Baby & Toddler Story Time: 10:15-10:35 a.m. and 11:15-11:35 a.m. Tuesdays. It is for children ages 0-3½ attending with a caregiver and features short picture books, songs and bounces.

    Preschool Story Time: 10:30-11 a.m. Wednesdays through Dec. 12, is for children 3-5 and features stories and songs.

    Birds of a Feather: 1 p.m. Dec. 3. Kids and all ages are invited to a program by the nonprofit Corvid Connection using permanently injured wild birds for educational programs.

    Puppet Art Theater -- The Boy Who Cried Wolf: 7-8 p.m. Dec. 17. For kids 5-11, the Puppet Art Theater will present the classic story with a holiday twist.

    Stargazing@the Library: 7-8 p.m. Nov. 26. All ages are invited to join the Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society for a night of fun.

    Concord Mystery Book Club: 2:30 p.m. the second Sunday of the month, and mystery lovers are invited to join the group. On Dec. 9, the discussion will be on "Friend of the Devil" by Peter Robinson.

    Knitting and crochet group: 1:15-4:45 p.m. the first Sunday of each month. Knitters and crocheters of all levels are welcome. On Dec. 2, drop in anytime to knit, crochet and network. Some practice yarn provided, but bring your own needles.

    Computer Tutoring: 10-11 a.m. and 11 a.m.-noon Tuesdays and Saturdays. Adults can get one-on-one help with basic computer instruction -- setting up an email account, searching the Internet, formatting a Word document and beginning Excel skills.

    Small claims adviser workshop: 5:30-8 p.m. the second Thursday of the month, presented by the Contra Costa County Superior Court. The program is free and open to everyone. No registration, but latecomers will not be admitted due to the large amount of information to be covered.
