Twelve athletes from the Walnut Creek Aquanuts (ages 15-19) will head to Mexico at the end of this month to represent the United States in the elite synchronized swimming event -- the FINA World Trophy Cup.

The Aquanuts will be the youngest team entering this competition, as it competes against the National Teams from Russia, Spain, Japan and many other countries.

The Walnut Creek Aquanuts team consists of: Remy Mink, 15, Alamo; Karina Boyle, 16, Walnut Creek; McKinzie Chelberg, 19, Clayton; Morgan Boneburg, 17, Clayton; Jamie Kuchan, 17, Lafayette; Sarah House, 17, Lafayette; Lizzie Welzien, 16, San Ramon; Rina Horii, 16, Walnut Creek; Jasmine Carillo, 15, Walnut Creek; Alexa Tchekmarev, 18, Walnut Creek; Sandra Ortellado, 16, Walnut Creek; Sophia Bouzos, 17, Walnut Creek.
