End of an era for DLS
Bob Ladouceur, right, hugs Justin Alumbaugh after Ladouceur announced that he was stepping down as De La Salle High's varsity head football coach after 34 years. Alumbaugh, a 1998 De La Salle graduate, was named as Ladouceur's successor during a news conference at the school on Jan. 4. Ladouceur, who retires with 399 wins, is well-known beyond the Bay Area for coaching the Spartans to a national record 151-game winning streak from 1992-2003. He will remain at De La Salle as a religious studies teacher and assistant coach.
