CONCORD -- The Mt. Diablo school board on Monday expects to discuss the loss of crossing guards, its budget and a plan to address its problem of too often classifying African-Americans as special education students.

In addition, the board will discuss a new law that will prevent it from requiring student fees for school supplies or field trips. It will also review plans to broadcast future meetings and discuss an upcoming Feb. 23 board retreat.
