The Contra Costa County Historical Society has moved from its Main Street location to 724 Escobar Street in Martinez, Calif. where official court records some dating back to the 1800s are stored on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013. Photos, superior court records, maps and historic records are included in the 5,000 square feet of archival materials moved. The Contra Costa County Historical Society in Martinez has moved from its Main Street location to 724 Escobar St. Society president John Burgh and executive director Priscilla Couden, above, look over bins that need to be unpacked. Photographs, superior court records, maps and historic records are included in the 5,000 square feet of archival materials spanning 162 years that were moved by Waters Moving and Storage Company and a team of volunteers helping with organizing the new space, according to Couden. Some of the official court records, right, date back to the mid-1800s.
