CONCORD -- The public is invited to two events this week focusing on preparing students for college and careers.

A free presentation Tuesday night by Willard Daggett of the International Center for Leadership in Education will address the question: "How do we really prepare all students for college and careers?" It is from 7-9 p.m. in Mt. Diablo High School's multiuse room at 2450 Grant St. in Concord.

An East Bay business education leadership summit will take place from 7:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Concord Hilton, including a morning address by Daggett, followed by workshops and an afternoon address by Kish Rajan, director of the governor's Office for Business and Economic Development, examining education, workforce development and the economy.

The summit costs $80 for educators or $125 for business and community members. For more information or to reserve a space, call 925-674-1654 or visit www.cceconptnr.org.
