CONCORD -- The Mt. Diablo school board will hold a special study session Wednesday in the district office to hear a presentation by an outside consultant regarding local and state budget issues.
The meeting is at 3 p.m. in the board room at 1936 Carlotta Dr. in Concord. It will include a presentation by John Gray of School Services of California, an independent agency that advises districts throughout the state about how the governor's proposed budget would affect them.
The Mt. Diablo district filed a "qualified" budget last fall, meaning it may not be able to pay all of its bills through June 30, 2015 if it does not cut spending or find new revenue. The district must update its budget this month and decide whether to issue pink slips to teachers by March 15.
The next regular board meeting is at 7:30 p.m. March 11 in the district office.
