Bradley James Puckett, the son of Steve and Christine Puckett, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, which will be presented in Court of Honor ceremonies March 23, at the Salvation Army Church in Concord.

He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 370, under the leadership of Scoutmasters Steve Puckett and Paul Steelhammer.

For his Eagle Scout community service project, Puckett built 11 cat houses for Tony La Russa's Animal Rescue Foundation. The houses had to meet specific requirements so they could be used by both the cats -- as a place to sleep and hide -- and by human adopters and volunteers, as a seating area.

During his Scouting career, Puckett earned 33 merit badges, three 50-miler awards, Path of the Paddle, and the National Outdoor Badge. He is a member of the Order of the Arrow, and currently the junior assistant Scoutmaster for his troop. He has also been a senior patrol leader, patrol leader, assistant patrol leader, instructor, librarian, scribe, historian and Order of the Arrow representative.

Puckett, 15, is a sophomore at Northgate High School in Walnut Creek, and is a resident of Concord.
