Educators' open house set at Lindsay Museum

A free Educators' Open House will be held from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Oct. 1, at the Lindsay Wildlife Museum, 1931 First Ave., in Walnut Creek.

Participants will learn about the Lindsay's school programs, which can be scheduled at the museum, schools, or in the community.

Educators will meet representatives of local organizations and hear children's authors talk about their wildlife-themed books. Museum discounts are available, and there are free materials to take back to the schools.

Concord High choir will hold carwash

The Concord High School Choir will hold a carwash from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the school, 4200 Concord Blvd.

Funds raised will support the Williamsburg, Va. tour.

Cost is $10 for cars, and $12 for trucks and SUVs.

Pixie Play School holds kindergarten workshop

A kindergarten readiness workshop will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 30, at Pixie Play School, 1797 Ayers Road, in Concord.

The event is free, but an R.S.V.P. is needed by Sept. 27. The workshop is for parents of preschoolers, ages 2-5.
