CONCORD -- Mt. Diablo school district staff met with concerned residents Monday and discussed options for controlling noise, light and trash from night lights and a public address system proposed for Ygnacio Valley High School in Concord.

The school board expects to vote on the project Oct. 9, after abruptly pulling the item from its agenda last week amid new questions that had been raised about the impacts from the project.

The board will consider suggestions from neighbors, such as restricting the hours of field use and cutting down on sound system announcements and music.

More information about the community meeting is available in the On Assignment blog at www.ibabuzz.com/onassignment. Details about the board meeting will be available Friday by calling 925-692-8000 ext. 4000 or by visiting http://esbpublic.mdusd.k12.ca.us. Click on Oct. 9.
