CONCORD -- A man with a gun escaped capture Saturday after he was involved in a fight at a popular venue for children's birthdays, police said.

Concord police went to The Jungle in the Willows Shopping Center at 1975 Diamond Blvd. at 4:58 p.m. when a large fight involving birthday party attendees was reported, said Concord police Lt. Tim Runyon. When officers arrived, they were told that one of the people in the fight had a handgun and that he may have fired it outside the business.

Officers evacuated the building, but the man with the gun was not found, Runyon said.

No injuries were reported and no arrests were made.

Comment from The Jungle employees was not immediately available.
