CONCORD -- An overturned vehicle down an embankment is causing a traffic backup at the start of the Wednesday evening commute.

Officers responded to northbound Interstate 680 near Willow Pass Road around 3:04 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. When they arrived, they found a gray Mitsubishi Eclipse on its roof that had somehow gone off the freeway and down into a ditch.

Only minor injuries have been reported, but CHP officers are still working to clear the scene.

It is unknown if any other vehicles were involved. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
