Patty Cakes Storytime: 11 a.m. Tuesdays through March 4. It is for kids ages 0-3 with a caregiver.
Picture Book Time: 11 a.m. Thursdays through March 6, is for kids ages 3-5 who can attend without a caregiver.
Library 101: An Introduction for Teens: 4-5:15 p.m. Jan. 22. Middle and high school students have the opportunity to ask a librarian about the library: how to get a book the library does not own, how to get that classic you need right away, and help with research projects. Clayton Village Initiative: 7-9 p.m. Jan. 29. There will be an informational meeting about the Village Movement. Villages are membership-driven, grass-roots organizations that coordinate access to affordable services, allowing seniors to stay in their homes longer.
The Ruth Bancroft Garden: A History: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 12. Brian Kemble, curator and lecturer, will give a history of the Ruth Bancroft Garden, now more than 40 years old, and which was once part of a pear orchard in operation until the 1960s. There will be a selection of plants for purchase after the talk.
Conservation in Africa through Art, Science, and Education: 6:30-7:30 p.m. Feb. 26. Presentation by Wendy Blakeley, who has more than two decades of experience, travel and conservation work in Africa. She charted the nonprofit Africa Matters to bring conservation to youth, and organized arts and crafts workshops developing local arts and helping artisans with income-generating skills.
Clayton Library Book Club: 7-9 p.m. on the second Mondays is open to interested adults.

Bilingual Storytime: 1:30-2 p.m. Mondays, through Feb. 3. Kids ages 0-5 can listen to stories and songs in English and Spanish. The next session begins Feb. 24.
Toddler Tumble Time: noon-1:15 p.m. beginning Jan. 30. A five-week toddler play group with a focus on early literacy. Registration is required and is limited to the first 25 children, who must be between the ages of 1-3½.

Get Covered, CA: 5-8 p.m. Feb. 3. Sue Hamill and Covered California certified educators will share information and assist with enrollment in the Affordable Care Act -- Obamacare. Assistance is on a first-come, first- served basis. The event is free, and there will be some Spanish translation services.
Insiders: 1-2 p.m. Jan. 27. Adults with disabilities can enjoy a laid-back setting in the library for enrichment and fun. Events differ each month and vary from arts and crafts, enjoying music and dance, and playing games on the Wii.
Knitting and crochet group: 1:15-4:45 p.m. Feb. 2. Knitters and crocheters of all levels are welcome. Drop in anytime to knit, crochet and network. Free knitting and crocheting instruction. Some practice yarn provided, but bring your own needles.
