Five members of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Pleasant Hill received their God and Life awards recently, including Brandon Clement and Alana Clement, students at Clayton Valley Charter High School in Concord; James Mizutani and Claire Mizutani, who attend Northgate High School in Walnut Creek; and Emily Adamson, a student at Carondelet High School in Concord.

Emily is a member of Girl Scout Troop 30478. Brandon and James, members of Boy Scout Troop 444, and Alana and Claire, members of Crew 444 (chartered by St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Concord) also received their P.R.A.Y. Four-Star awards.

The P.R.A.Y. series is a Bible-based curriculum of study and service projects: God and Me, God and Family, God and Church, and God and Life, for members who started in first, second or third grade and continued to earn all four levels. Less than 1 percent of the P.R.A.Y. recipients in any year receive the Four-Star award.

Receiving the God and Service Award for her volunteer service to St. Andrews and the Boy Scouts was Courtney Mizutani, God and Country counselor and Crew 444 associate adviser.

The awards were presented at the Scout Sunday service Feb. 9, at St. Andrew's, which included members of Boy Scout Troop 239 (chartered by the church) and Scouts from across the Mt. Diablo Silverado Council. National PRAY board of directors member and council Scout executive John Fenoglio assisted with the presentation.
