Patty Cakes Storytime: 11 a.m. Tuesdays, through May 13. It is for kids ages 0-3 with a caregiver.
Picture Book Time: 11 a.m. Thursdays through May 8, is for kids ages 3-5 who can attend without a caregiver.
Book Buddies: 1-2 p.m. Wednesdays. (Call 925-673-0659 to confirm the program on a specific Wednesday). A book buddy volunteer reader is in the library to read stories to children 3 and older.
Earth Day Celebration: 4-5 p.m. April 17. Children from preschool to grade 5 are invited to Earth Day with crafts and fun activities.
Practice ACT/SAT Test: 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. April 17. Students in grades 9-12 can take the practice ACT/SAT test. Register by 5:30 p.m. April 14.

"Daughter Cell" Author Talk: 7-8 p.m. April 16. Adults are invited to an author talk and reading with Jay Hartlove about the second Sanantha Mauwad mystery, "Daughter Cell," in which a genetic researcher wakes up with a memory gap set against a backdrop of ancient cults colliding with cutting-edge science.
Clayton Library Book Club: 7-9 p.m. on the second Mondays is open to interested adults. On April 14, Sunny Solomon leads the discussion on "Me Before You," by Jojo Moyes.

LEGO & Listen: 7 p.m. April 14. Kids ages 6-12 can build with Lego blocks while listening to a recorded book. Registration is required, and space is limited.
Cherry Blossom Craft: 7-8 p.m. April 7. Kids can celebrate spring by making a cherry blossom painting. Paint will be used, so dress accordingly.
Movie Monday: 7-8:30 p.m. April 28. Kids ages 5-11 are invited to watch a G- or PG-rated film.
Free Tutoring: 5-7 p.m. Mondays; and 4-6 p.m. Wednesdays. Responsible teen volunteers will tutor all subjects and all ages. Contact Christina Gendron at 925-646-5455 with questions or to become a tutor.
Insiders: 1-2 p.m. April 23, 27. Adults with disabilities can enjoy a laid-back setting in the library for enrichment and fun. Events differ each month and vary from arts and crafts, enjoying music and dance, and playing games on the Wii.
All Ears Reading: 1-2 p.m. April 9. Adults with disabilities can enjoy the unconditional love of dogs and practice reading to furry friends. Dogs and their handlers are supplied courtesy of a partnership between the library and Tony LaRussa's Animal Rescue Foundation.
Concord Mystery Book Club: 2:30 p.m. the second Sunday of the month, and mystery lovers are invited to join the group. On April 13, the discussion will be on "Death Takes up a Collection," by Carol Ann O'Marie.
Knitting and crochet group: 1:15-4:45 p.m. April 6. Knitters and crocheters of all levels are welcome. Drop in to knit, crochet and network. Free knitting and crocheting instruction. Some practice yarn provided, but bring your own needles.
Free Income Tax Assistance: 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays through April 12. AARP volunteers will provide tax assistance to low- and middle-income residents. Call the library to make an appointment. Priority is given to senior citizens.

ESL Conversation Group: 7-8 p.m. Thursdays. Adults can practice their English conversation skills in an informal, friendly and small-group setting.
Spanish Book Club: 3-4 p.m. April 24. Adults can join the club led by Luisa Carnathan and read and discuss books in Spanish. .
