Pixie Play School dinner, auction for 60th year

Pixie Play School is holding a dinner and auction celebrating its 60th anniversary.

The event will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday, May 2, at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church, 2925 Bonifacio St., Concord.

Cost is $12.50 per person at this adult-only event.

Hope Academy offers summer program

Hope Academy for Dyslexics is registering children in grades 1-7 for a half-day summer program from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. June 16-July 11. The school, at 5353 Concord Blvd. in Concord, serves dyslexic children who struggle in the areas of reading, writing or spelling.

Clayton Valley plans Class of '74 reunion

The Clayton Valley High School Class of '74 and friends are planning a summer reunion.

It will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. June 21, at the Oakhurst Country Club, 1001 Peacock Creek Drive, in Clayton.

The Mt. Diablo School District is participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program for at-risk students.

The afterschool supper program is free to all children enrolled at Oak Grove Middle School, 2050 Minert Road, Concord.

Host families for international students

The International Education Center at Diablo Valley College is seeking families to host international students on a temporary basis. Long- or short- term placements are available and host families are paid a monthly stipend.

All types of families are welcome including single adults with or without children. Families may also host multiple students, as long as they can provide appropriate accommodations.
