Discounts are being offered for two summer day camps -- Backyard Explorers and "All That and Then Some" for parents who register their children by the end of May.
Backyard Explorers is for kids in grades 1-6. It takes place at Markham Nature Park where children can fish in a creek, go on nature hikes, and participate in team sports and special events such as Amazing Race, Water Olympics and Survivor.
The group also takes weekly trips for swimming, bowling and picnic barbecues as well as to Bay Area attractions. The program is from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Extended hours are available.
"All That and Then Some" is for middle school students ages 11-14 and meets at Willow Pass Center. Activities include swimming, bowling, kickball, softball, tennis and giant board games as well as art and cooking projects.
The program features a different theme each week, and students take a weekly field trip to Bay Area attractions. Hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Transportation is provided to and from Centre Concord, with a 7:45 a.m. departure and 6 p.m. return.
Registering for either camp through the end of May will save 15 percent off the per week cost of $195 for Concord residents and $200 for nonresidents. The camp runs weekly from June 16-Aug. 15.
