Michael Wayne Anderson, the son of Mary Lau, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout, to be presented in Court of Honor ceremonies Aug. 30, at King's Valley Christian School in Concord.
He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 317, under the leadership of Scoutmaster Ben Soleimanieh.
For his Eagle Scout community service project, Anderson and a team of adults and youth removed the rotted steep wooden ramp of a day care room at King's Valley Christian School. Then, they constructed an assisted handicap ramp with pressure-treated wood for the frame, composite decking material for the ramp and landing, and redwood railing, which was painted to match the school building.
During his Scouting career, he earned 38 merit badges, and was awarded the Arrow of Light, Order of the Arrow, National Youth Leadership Training, and the World Conservation Award.
Anderson, 16, is a Concord resident, and a junior at Northgate High School in Walnut Creek.
