Alice Halbert of Concord traveled to Nashville, Tenn., last summer and took in many sights, including the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. But her favorite was the Parthenon, a full-size replica of the original temple in Athens, Greece, that was built in 1897 as part of the Tennessee Centennial Exposition. It was there, in front of the statue of Athena Parthenos, re-created in 1990, that Halbert caught up with the community news in the Concord Transcript.
It doesn't matter if your time away is spent across the Bay or across the country -- remember to pack the Transcript to keep up with news of the community, and then show your neighbors where you have been.
