Knights, Broncos eager to square off

Bragging rights are at stake when the football edition of the Battle of the Creek kicks off Sept. 14. Las Lomas, which hosts Northgate at 7 p.m., will try to continue their dominance over the Broncos in this game. Since 2001, Northgate has only won the Battle of the Creek twice. Strangely, both Northgate wins happened at Las Lomas. But quarterback Joe Pelletier, pictured, and the Broncos have momentum heading into this week after crushing Alameda 52-0 on the road on Sept. 7. At 2-1, Northgate also has a better record than Las Lomas (1-2), though the Knights' schedule has been tough.
