EL SOBRANTE -- Police are asking the public's help in identifying a man who wandered around the El Sobrante Christian School campus after he told staff he was there to wait for the mother of a student, police said.

The man, who identified himself as "James," told staff at the front office the name of a student who attended the school before leaving the office and walking around the school's grounds for about 45 minutes before being told to go back inside the office and wait, according to Jimmy Lee with the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office.

Lee said the man and the student the man claimed to know never met on campus.

The man was described as an black adult, roughly 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a medium build and waist-length dreadlocks.
