Charlie Sheen allegedly threatened to shoot a man with a Super 90 semi-automatic shotgun, according to TMZ, citing a report filed with the Los Angeles Police.

And you were afraid he'd gotten all sane the past year.

Law enforcement apparently said a man who claims to be a former associate of Sheen's filed the report Oct. 18, saying he's afraid Sheen will kill him based on a text message the actor allegedly sent to a mutual friend.

See? Texting really is dangerous.

The man said he had a falling out with Sheen and the actor vented about it in a text to a woman that read, "I'll blow his head off with my Super 90."

TMZ says the case is under investigation and police plan on speaking with Sheen soon.

A source close to the actor told TMZ, "The accuser is a dishonorably discharged military person with multiple probation violations who is trying to shake him down for money."

Sheen hasn't commented publicly on the incident.
