CONCORD -- Firefighters knocked back a two-alarm fire that raged through a single family home Monday afternoon, Contra Costa Fire District officials said.
About 4:10 p.m., fire crews arrived at the home on the 800 block of Ridge Drive to find significant smoke and flames shooting through the roof of the house, Fire Marshal Lewis Broschard said. The fire was upgraded to a second alarm about 4:20 p.m., at which point five additional crews were sent to assist the five trucks already on scene.
The fire was knocked down about 4:30 p.m. and the cause was determined to be accidental, officials said. No injuries were immediately reported.
Damages from the fire were estimated at $150,000.
