Corinne and Terry Sutherland of Concord, left, and friend Pat Wilson of Antioch, spent 25 days touring England, Wales, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland. At a stop at the Norman Keep at Cardiff Castle in June, they caught up with the community news in the Concord Transcript. Some of their many sightseeing adventures included Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and the London Eye, Roman Baths, Stratford-on-Avon, Edinburgh, Loch Ness and the Blarney Castle, where they kissed the Blarney stone. In Sway, England, they located the grave site of Terry's maternal great-grandmother, and followed that up with a visit to County Cork in Ireland where Terry's grandmother's family is from.
It doesn't matter if your time away is spent across the Bay or across the country -- remember to pack the Transcript to keep up with news of the community, and then show your neighbors where you have been.
