THE STAT LINE: In Tri-County Athletic League-Rock Division play, the 6-foot Alcorn scored a game-high 28 points -- including a trio of 3-pointers -- in the Gauchos' 56-53 victory over St. Joseph Notre Dame. He then had a game-high 24 points and five steals in a 74-58 win over St. Patrick-St. Vincent.

Esteban Berumen

SCHOOL: Pittsburg

SPORT: Soccer

YEAR: Junior

POSITION: Forward

THE STAT LINE: Berumen scored five goals as the Pirates went unbeaten in the first week of Bay Valley Athletic League play. He scored once in a 2-2 draw with Freedom, then had four goals in a 7-1 victory over Heritage.

Chanel Chawalit

SCHOOL: Albany

SPORT: Wrestling

YEAR: Junior

DIVISION: 126 pounds

THE STAT LINE: Chawalit won the 126-pound division at the Napa Valley Girls Classic with a 5-0 record. She improved her overall record to 20-0 this season in girls competition with a 5-4 victory in the final over Olivia Seppinni of Rocklin, in which Chawalit got a reversal in the third period for the final points of the match.

Ariah Mack

SCHOOL: Amador Valley

SPORT: Basketball

YEAR: Sophomore

POSITION: Guard

THE STAT LINE: Mack had 16 points and five rebounds in the Dons' East Bay Athletic League win over Monte Vista. She also had 20 points, including 15 in the first half, six rebounds and three assists in a 72-32 win over Granada.

BOYS

MATT O'REILLY, Campolindo, basketball, So. -- The guard was the Cougars' scoring leader as they opened Diablo Foothill Athletic League play with victories over Miramonte and Dougherty Valley. He scored 18 points to spark a comeback win over the Matadors and had 17 against the Wildcats.

TAHJEE WILLIAMS, McClymonds, Sr. -- Williams had 12 rebounds and a game-high 22 points in a 73-68 win over Oakland, and also had 17 points and 10 rebounds in a 64-45 win over Castlemont.

GIRLS

MARIANNA TAYLOR, Patten Academy, basketball, Jr. -- The guard scored all of her team's points in a 52-42 loss to North Hills Christian-Vallejo, including four 3-pointers. She also had five rebounds and six steals. The Bulldogs suited up only five players for the game.

MADI WEST, Berean Christian, basketball, Sr. -- West, a guard, had a combined 49 points, 19 rebounds, 10 steals and nine assists as the Eagles split Diablo Valley Athletic League contests with College Park and Ygnacio Valley.
