PITTSBURG -- A pair of fundraising basketball games will take place Saturday afternoon at the Pittsburg High School gymnasium to raise scholarship funds for two graduating seniors.

The scholarship is named for Greg Ashford, a Pittsburg senior in 2001 who drowned during a senior class trip to Lake Berryessa.

Two games are scheduled at the fourth annual fundraiser at Pittsburg High, 1750 Harbor St. The 3 p.m. game features the East County All-Stars vs. the Pittsburg 925 All-Stars while the 5 p.m. game features former basketball players who attended Pittsburg High.

Admission is $10 for ages 11 and older and $5 for seniors age 65 and older. Those who are 10 years and younger get in free.

To date, the scholarship fund has awarded six $1,000 scholarships and one $500 scholarship. Pittsburg High graduates Hervey Malone and Trimaine Davis, along with the high school and school district, are sponsors of the event. For more information call 925-473-2390. ext. 7509.
