Poor Baltimore

We're pretty sure the Baltimore Ravens will lose the Super Bowl. If San Francisco 49ers fans would like to assuage the sadness in Maryland with tourist dollars, check out the inaugural Baltimore Hotel Week, Feb. 8-18. Many hotels are offering special rates, with some starting at $100 a night. Book a two-night stay, and you'll get two free tourism passes. See Fort McHenry and the Star-Spangled Banner Flag house, for example, or tour the Museum of Maryland African American History & Culture and related legacy sites. 30,000-foot rule

Potty mouths, consider yourselves warned. An Australian who uttered obscenities while quarreling with another passenger aboard Tiger Airways landed in a heap of trouble on the ground in Singapore. According to the Los Angeles Times, he violated the "outage of modesty" laws and could have faced jail time and a severe lashing. He was spared the cane, but the airline's stance remains firm: "Tiger Airways has a zero-tolerance policy toward inappropriate behavior on board our aircraft."
