THE STAT LINE: Hartwell won the 195-pound championship match at the Mission San Jose Invitational. He rallied from a 4-0 deficit and scored a takedown with 20 seconds left in the match for a 7-6 victory over Clovis' Matt Weiss. Hartwell was 4-0 in the tournament, winning two matches by pinfall.

POSITION: Guard

THE STAT LINE: Pitts scored the 1,000th point of his varsity career and led the Spartans to three wins. His 25 points and 10 rebounds helped the Spartans beat Monte Vista 54-42. He also had 27 points and six steals in a 59-42 win over Foothill-Santa Ana at the Nike Extravaganza.

SPORT: Soccer

YEAR: Junior

POSITION: Goalkeeper

THE STAT LINE: Nicholas was in goal for Amador Valley's 1-0 victories over Monte Vista and California. She had 16 total saves in the two matches, including six on breakaways.

YEAR: Sophomore

POSITION: Forward

THE STAT LINE: Nild scored both of her team's goals in a 2-1 win over Bishop O'Dowd in West Alameda County Conference-Foothill Division action. She also had a goal and an assist in a 2-1 win over Alameda.

BOYS

KENJONNA EVANS, Castlemont, basketball, Sr. -- The 5-foot-7 guard had 41 points, 10 rebounds and six assists in a 67-64 victory over Oakland. In a 76-64 loss to Oakland Tech, Evans had 24 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

TYLER RARDON, Livermore, wrestling, Sr. -- Rardon won the 152-pound division at the Mission San Jose Invitational with a 5-4 decision over Clovis' Dominic Kincaid in the title match.

GIRLS

RACHEL HOWARD, Berkeley, basketball, Sr. -- Howard had 26 points and 11 rebounds in a 65-48 victory over Arroyo. She also had 24 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists in a 72-32 win over Hayward.

LINDA TRAN, Dublin, wrestling, Sr. -- Tran won the 114-pound division at the NCS girls championships, needing just 43 seconds to pin her opponent in the title match. She finished with two pins and a technical fall victory.
